Wild About Wallpaper

Updated: Jun 7, 2023

There's no better way to change up a room than by hanging wallpaper. Whether you're covering all four walls, one accent wall or even the ceiling, wallpaper allows you to set the mood and tie colors together. Luckily, it's easier than ever to find a paper you'll love—in fact the choices are overwhelming. And now you can buy wallpaper everywhere, from big box stores like Wayfair to high-end niche specialists like Farrow & Ball. Here's a look at some of my favorite papers, organized by theme and linked to the sources.

Birds

Left to right: Daydream Wallpaper via Hygge & West; Scandinavian Birds by Rebecca Reck via Spoonflower; Folk Bird Pattern by Melissa Boardman via Spoonflower (Melissa has a lot of bird designs!)

Graphic Florals

Left to right: Guyer Floral wallpaper via Wayfair (as seen in my sister's bedroom!); Blossom Wallpaper via Serena & Lily; Wisteria by Farrow & Ball (as seen in my friend Francine's fancy powder room!)

Waves and Clouds

Left to right: No. 8 - Seaside by Chasing Paper; Etched Clouds Print Wallpaper via West Elm; Mohrsville Peel and Stick Wallpaper from All Modern.

Trees

Left to right: Wallpaperie Birch Forest via Pottery Barn Kids; Pacific Northwest by Chasing Paper; Mid-century Trees by Happywall.

I helped my sister hang some peel and stick wallpaper (the Guyer Floral shown above) and I can tell you it requires patience and attention to detail. It's also definitely a two-person job. But it's worth the effort because of the impact it makes on the room. And the beauty of peel-and-stick is you can just pull it off when you need a change. Wallpaper for the win!
