Very Versatile Pieces for Your Home

Updated: Jun 7, 2023

Don't you just love something that can be used in different ways and in different places? The following five decor superstars can serve a variety of purposes throughout your space.

Poufs/Ottomans

Depending on the size and the height of your pouf, it can act as a foot rest, an extra seat, or even a side or coffee table if you put a tray on top. Some ottomans also offer storage for you secret stash of magazines.

Portable Utility Carts

My good old Ikea cart has moved with me into 3 different spaces and is still going strong. Of course these carts are great in kitchens to hold Tupperware or pantry items, but they also make great storage for your crafts space. And of course, just add some wine glasses and booze bottles and you have a bar cart!

Stools

Need an extra seat at the table? Pull up a stool. How about a little drinks table next to your sofa? A stool to the rescue! And what about elevating your favorite plant? Look no farther than a trusty stool!

Small Dressers

A petite chest of drawers is a real workhorse. Use it as a larger nightstand next to your bed, or move it into your dining room and set it up as a buffet or bar table. You can also slide it up next to your sofa for a side table with extra storage!

Wall Shelving

My favorite thing to hunt for at flea markets and estate sales are vintage wall shelves, but there are plenty of great and affordable new shelving units too. I use them in my living room to showcase my knick-knacks, in the bathroom to hold washcloths and toiletries, and in my office to keep my stapler and paper clips close at hand. They also add a ton of character to a kitchen.
